<br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />COMPENSATION SURVEY AND PAY PLAN <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />POLICE PAY PLAN <br /> <br />The Mercer Group, Inc. was hired by the City of Sunny Isle Beach to conduct a <br />Compensation Study and develop a recommended pay structure. The following is a <br />summary of the recommendations for the Police Pay Plan. The Mercer Group was able <br />to obtain information from eleven organizations in the City's market. These <br />organizations are: Aventura, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Hallandale Beach, Key <br />Biscayne, Miami, Miami Beach, Miramar, North Miami, Pembroke Pines, and <br />Hollywood. <br /> <br />After analyzing the information the following pay ranges are recommended: <br /> <br /> Pay <br />Position Grade Minimum Maximum Steps <br />Police Officer I $ 40,703.30 $ 59,604.23 8 <br />Master Officer 4 $ 45,128.48 $ 66,084.27 8 <br />Corporal 6 $ 48,342.75 $ 70,791.12 8 <br />Sergeant 8 $ 51,785.96 $ 75,833.22 8 <br />Master Sergeant 9 $ 53,598.47 $ 78,487.38 8 <br /> <br />This overall pay structure coupled with the City's benefit package places the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach as a preferred employer in the market. <br /> <br />The salary cost to implement this pay structure is $83,018.50 or 4.38 % of current <br />salaries. <br /> <br />Exhibit " A" <br /> <br />The Mercer Group, Inc. <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> <br />November 30, 2004 <br />
