<br />Application for Funding Assistance <br />Florida Department of Law Enforcement <br />Local Law Enforcement Block Grant <br /> <br /> <br />General Project Information <br />Project Title: Purchase of a Public Announcement Message Board <br />Project Sequence No: 0 <br />Subgrantee: City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />Implementing Agency: Sunny Isles Beach Police Department <br />Project Start Date: 2/1/2005 End Date: 7/30/2005 <br /> <br />Problem Identification <br /> <br />Whereas the City of Sunny Isles Beach is a vacationing community that attracts thousands of <br />visitors to our beaches each year, the effective communications between our visitors, residents <br />and our police department are difficult. <br />With the use of the grant funds provided by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, through <br />the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant and a local cash match from our general fund, The City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach Police Department would purchase a ?Ver-Mac PMV 548 Message Board? <br />This message board would enable us to display public service announcement such as ?Say No to <br />Drugs?, Red Ribbon Week?, ?Click-it or Ticket?, etc. By placing this message board on main <br />thoroughfares within the City of Sunny Isles Beach, we would be exposing tens of thousands of <br />motorist and pedestrians to our public service announcements each day. <br /> <br />Application Ref # 2005-LEBG-166 <br /> <br />Contract <br /> <br />Page 3 of 11 <br /> <br />SIB <br />
