<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005- TCJ J <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING LANDSCAPING <br />SERVICES BY LUKES' LANDSCAPING, INC. ("LUKES"'), IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF SIXTEEN THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED FORTY-TWO <br />DOLLARS ($16,442.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTIONS NO. 2003-556 AND 2001-390, <br />FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF PLANTS FOR <br />REPLACEMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 1,600 PLANTS ON 159TH <br />STREET AND VARIOUS MEDIAN LOCATIONS ON COLLINS <br />AVENUE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is desirous of replacing approximately 1,600 <br />plants on 159th Street and various median locations on Collins Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to maintain the beauty of the medians along the length of <br />Collins Avenue and along 159th Street where the plants have been damaged by street lighting <br />installation and must be replaced with plants able to withstand the summer heat; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City adopted Resolution No. 2003-556 authorizing an agreement with <br />Lukes' Landscaping, Inc., for landscaping maintenance and Resolution No. 2001-390 awarding <br />Lukes' a six-year agreement to landscape and maintain the parks, medians and rights-of-way; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Lukes' Landscaping, Inc., are under contract with the City and will <br />complete the landscaping project replacing the seasonal plants along 159th Street and in the <br />medians along Collins Avenue at a cost of $16,442.00, consistent with the unit prices established <br />in Lukes' contract with the City. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Landscaping Services. Approval of landscaping services by Lukes' <br />Landscaping, Inc., in accordance with Resolutions No. 2003-556 and No. 2001-390, for purchase <br />and installation of plants to replace the damaged plants along 159th Street and Collins Avenue <br />median, in an amount of $16,442.00, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be and the same, is hereby <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
