<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005- ]j3 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A MATCHING <br />FUND CONTRIBUTION TO THE COASTAL COMMUNITIES <br />TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN PROJECT, IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF TWELVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED <br />THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS ($12,832.00); AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the coastal communities of A ventura, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, <br />Miami Beach, North Bay Village, Sunny Isles Beach, and Surfside have expressed an interest in <br />creating a Coastal Communities Transportation Master Plan to address traffic and transportation <br />issues related to barrier islands; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these coastal communities submitted a joint application to the Metropolitan <br />Planning Organization (MPO) to fund and conduct the proposed Coastal Communities <br />Transportation Master Plan that was not recommended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the communities will resubmit their joint Coastal Communities <br />Transportation Master Tax Plan application to the MPO's 2006 Municipal Grant Program for a <br />maximum possible funding amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Coastal Communities Transportation Master Tax Plan is estimated to <br />cost Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($275,000.00), which would leave a balance <br />of One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000), should maximum MPO funding be <br />secured; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the coastal communities will cover the cost of the balance via matching <br />funds, proportioned according to population; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a matching fund allocation of Twelve <br />Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-Two Dollars ($12,832.00). <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISISON OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Matching Fund Contribution. The City Commission of the City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach hereby approves a matching fund contribution to the Coastal Communities <br />Transportation Master Plan project, in the amount of Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty- <br />Two dollars ($12,832.00). <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager.
