<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005- ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE <br />OF A DONATION IN AN AMOUNT OF $4,660.00 (FOUR THOUSAND <br />SIX HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS) FROM THE SUNFLOWER SOCIETY <br />TO SPONSOR CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE CITY SUMMER DAY <br />CAMP PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach provides a fee-for-service for the City's <br />Summer Day Camp Program ("Program"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are some families who are in need of financial assistance to pay for <br />the cost of a child (or children) to attend the program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sunflower Society is a non-profit organization that wishes to provide <br />financial assistance to families whose child or children would otherwise not be able to attend the <br />City's Program due to financial constraints; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunflower Society would like to select the children who will be the <br />recipient of its financial assistance. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Incomoration of Recitals. The recitals contained in this resolution are <br />incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance <br />of the donation from the Sunflower Society in an amount of Four Thousand Six Hundred Sixty <br />Dollars ($4,660.00) to pay for the summer camp fees of children whose families in need of <br />financial assistance, on the condition that the Sunflower Society selects the children who will be <br />the recipient of its financial assistance. <br /> <br />Section 3. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
