Russo, City Manager c61 <br /> DATE: September 8, 2005 <br /> RE: 172od Street and North Bay Road Improvements Agreement with Calvin <br /> Giordano& Associates, Inc. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution ratifying approval of <br /> an agreement with Calvin Giordano & Associates, Inc. ("CGA") for right-of-way lines, location <br /> of existing driveways, sidewalks, trees, structures and existing grades of roadway improvements <br /> for the area of 17? Street and North Bay Road. <br /> REASONS <br /> The 172nd Street and North Bay Road area(between Collins Avenue and Sunny Isles Boulevard) <br /> is in need of certain improvements. The 172nd Street and North Bay Road Project would require <br /> roadway elevations within right-of-way and adjacent to right-of-way, locate driveways, fencing, <br /> trees, and locate existing underground utilities shall be identified as to type, material and <br /> elevation. Take photos, make written documentation, sketches and research specific codes, <br /> regulations and electrical/street light design. Our Capital Projects Management Consultant, <br /> CGA, has agreed to undertake this project, submitting a proposal for services in the total amount <br /> of One Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Five Hundred Forty Four Dollars and 50 cents <br /> ($156,544.50). This amount covers the cost of professional land surveying services, professional <br /> civil engineering services, electrical engineering services, and construction phase services. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> CGA was qualified and hired as the City's engineering, planning, and capital projects consulting <br /> firm to assist staff with General Municipal Contract Services.
