Replace <br />impaired or dead plants promptly. Do not wait until near the end of the guarantee <br />period to make replacements of plants which have become unacceptable. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Remove soil ridges from around watering basins prior to end of maintenance <br />period, as directed by the Landscape Architect. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Watering: Water when soil moisture is below optimum level for best plant growth. <br /> <br />3.11 <br /> <br />CLEANING <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Fill all pits/depressions in holding area and rough grade to meet surrounding elevations. <br />Remove any organic or other debris resulting from the plant relocation process. <br /> <br />B. Sweep and wash all paved surfaces. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Remove planting debris from project site and holding area. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />Remove soil conditioners, soil mixes, gravel, etc. from project site and holding area. <br /> <br />SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION, INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE <br /> <br />Inspection of the entire project or designated portions thereof shall be made upon written request of the <br />Contractor. At that time, if all work is satisfactory and complete according to the conditions of the <br />Contract, the Architect shall declare the work substantially complete. <br /> <br />Contractor's written request for review of the work or any designate portion thereof shall be received by <br />Architect at least five (5) days before anticipated date of inspection. <br /> <br />Plants that have died or in unhealthy or badly impaired condition on inspection shall be treated or <br />replaced within 14 days at no additional cost to Owner. <br /> <br />Replace rejected plants within two weeks of inspection. <br /> <br />Substantial completion of the work for the entire project or designated portions thereof shall constitute <br />the beginning of guarantee period. <br /> <br />Contractor's responsibility for maintenance (exclusive of replacement within guarantee period) shall <br />terminate on date of final acceptance of the entire project according to the conditions of the Contract, <br />provided Contractor has supplied Landscape Architect with three (3) copies of written maintenance <br />instructions as required under Paragraph 1.05C of this Section. <br /> <br />END OF SECTION <br /> <br />06/05 <br /> <br />02490-13 <br /> <br />03-4138.8 <br />
