<br />2) Transportation Improvements-Address issues related to the overall efficiency and <br />effectiveness of circulation. What are the issues related to implementing an adequate <br />local transportation system within and to and from the City, including transit. This issue <br />will specifically include the following: <br /> <br />Promote alternative modes of transportation on Collins Avenue to reduce traffic <br />congestion <br /> <br />Reduce traffic congestion on North Bay Road <br /> <br />3) Intergovernmental Coordination- Improving intergovernmental coordination will <br />bring many benefits to the City including a higher level of planning coordination, overall <br />community knowledge and understanding of how future development and <br />redevelopment occurs and delivery of services and facilities. <br /> <br />Coordinate with Miami-Dade County School Board regarding school facility <br />planning (Le., assess the coordination by the City with the school board in <br />planning and siting of school facilities) <br /> <br />Increase intergovernmental coordination regarding impacts of development in <br />adjacent municipalities on the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br /> <br />4) Affordable Housing- Ensuring affordable housing and diverse living environments <br />is one of the City's fundamental considerations for managing current and future growth. <br /> <br />Provide adequate affordable housing for the City's population <br /> <br />5) Mission Statement -- Create a mission statement to guide how future growth and <br />development will occur in the City. <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach - <br /> <br />2005 Evaluation and Appraisal Report <br /> <br />Rev. 9/15/2005 <br />Page 4 <br />
