<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005- 8G8 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE <br />CONCEPT OF A PUBLIC FACILITIES BUILDING, <br />INCLUSIVE OF PUBLIC RESTROOMS, FOR THE TOWN <br />CENTER PARK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach owns the Town Center Park, located at <br />17200 Collins Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the residents of Sunny Isles Beach have used this park tremendously since <br />its opening; and <br /> <br />WHERAS, several park patrons have requested that the City install public restrooms at <br />the Town Center Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff would like to research the feasibility of installing a public facility <br />building at the Town Center Park that serves as a public restroom and a storage facility for park <br />maintenance equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the addition of a public facilities building is an improvement that will <br />enhance the experience of park patrons and allow for much needed maintenance space; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff will bring the research findings, proposed designs, and any contracts <br />over Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to the City Commission for subsequent approval. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval in Concept. The City Commission hereby approves the concept of a <br />public facilities building, inclusive of public restrooms and storage space for park maintenance <br />equipment, at the Town Center Park. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of December 2005. <br /> <br />~/4~ <br /> <br />Norman S.
