<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006--9.fi <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A <br />SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT AND A COMPANION <br />SOFTWARE SUPPORT AGREEMENT WITH SUNGARD HTE <br />INC., IN AN AGGREGATE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE <br />HUNDRED FIVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIVE <br />DOLLARS AND SIXTY-ONE CENTS ($505,805.61), TO <br />PROVIDE FOR THE AUTOMATION AND INTERGRATION <br />OF POLICE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SOFTWARE AND <br />RELATED SOFTWARE TECHNICAL SUPPORT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID <br />AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUA TE THE <br />TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in the process of implementing a Computer <br />Aided Dispatch, a Records Management System and a Mobile Data System ("System") at the <br />Police Depal1ment to enhance the Department's technological capabilities and provide greater <br />accuracy with documenting police calls for service, officer productivity, as well as minimizing <br />data handling; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this System is intended to grant the City's Police Department the resources <br />necessary to provide greater speed and efficiency with police emergency calls; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of entering into an agreement with <br />SunGard HTE, Inc. (SunGard) to obtain a perpetual, non-exclusive, nontransferable license for <br />the use of ce11ain computer software and related software technical support services to assist the <br />SUlmy Isles Beach Police Depal1ment in the implementation of the System; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the annual cost of the software technical supp0l1 services is Fifty Three <br />Thousand Two Hundred Forty One Dollars and Twenty Cents ($53,241.20). The Software <br />Supp0l1 Agreement is effective in year two (2) of this Agreement, after the expiration of the <br />twelve (12) month walTanty provided by SunGard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Texas, pursuant to RFP No. 2006-120, has awarded a contract <br />to SunGard to provide similar services and, pursuant to the recommendation of the City's <br />InfOlmation Technology Department, the City Commission is inclined to utilize the competitive <br />bid package from Texas in its evaluation and approval of these contracts to SunGard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Code of ordinances provides that purchases made <br />pursuant to competitive bid with another governmental agency are exempt from the City's <br />procurement regulations; and <br /> <br />R2oo6- Sungard I-ITE-OSSI Police Software Purchase <br /> <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
