Maas, Chief <br /> <br />Date: June 15, 2006 <br /> <br />Subject: Resolution Allowing the Police Department Use of a Specific Vendor to Purchase <br />Uniforms and Uniform Related Items from the Approved Budget <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in the <br />amount up to $24,000. (twenty four thousand dollars) to Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company <br />for the purchase of new and replacement uniforms for all uniformed employees of the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />Reasons: <br /> <br />The need to centralize and upgrade the quality of the uniform purchased by officers and civilians <br />representing the Police Department, has necessitated that we utilize a vendor who has a local facility <br />and stocks uniforms in quantity to serve the department's needs. <br /> <br />Additional Information: <br /> <br />Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company's pricing is lower than other companies which bid for <br />servIces. <br /> <br />Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company employs and utilizes 12 seamstress personnel to do <br />alterations and stitching of uniforms add-ons as opposed to 2 as employed and utilized by other <br />companies, which bid for service, thus saving time and enhancing service. <br /> <br />Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company is the only local company which will stock recommended <br />uniforms style and quality, thus saving time and enhancing service, Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform <br />Company is aIso the closest company, thus saving man-hours in ordering and pick-up of uniforms. <br /> <br />Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company is the only local company which makes motorcycle <br />britches. <br /> <br />This is a renewal of our arrangement with this vendor who has satisfactoriIy met our needs. <br /> <br />Agenda Item ~ 0 6 <br />Date c'o.., l O~ O~ <br />
