Res. - Capital Trans. - EQuipt. <br /> <br />In fiscal year 2005 CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) funds were made available 1 <br />for various projects. One of the projects selected by the City, Commission was the purchase an, <br />installation of bus shelters at various locations throughout the City and within the designated CI <br /> <br />Various types and designs of bus shelters were reviewed by Public Works staff and the ARC (A <br />Review Committee) and they have recommended the bus shelter manufactured by Tolar Shelter <br />California. The attached photo is an example of the bus shelter selected. These shelters will h <br />thermoplastic or glass panels, and will be open air on all four sides. This open-air design was c <br />eliminate the opportunities for vandalism, which has been a reoccurring problem with the bus sl <br />currently in place. <br /> <br />The bus shelters manufactured by Tolar Shelters use a patented roof design and are therefore on <br />through this company. <br /> <br />The sites for the eleven (11) new bus shelters have been chosen based on amount of bus riderslU <br />availability for the shelter.
