<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-gi':0 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS <br />DESIGNEE TO SIGN OR RENEW ALL REQUIRED CONTRACTS, <br />AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE HEALTH, <br />SAFETY, OR WELFARE OF THE CITY, DURING THE SUMMER RECESS <br />PERIOD FROM THE LAST CITY COMMISSION MEETING IN JULY 2006 <br />THROUGH THE FIRST REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING IN <br />SEPTEMBER 2006, SUBJECT TO AFTER-THE-FACT RATIFICATION AT <br />THE SEPTEMBER 21, 2006 CITY COMMISSION MEETING; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission is not scheduled to meet between <br />July 20, 2006 and the next regular meeting for September 21,2006; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there may be new 01' existing contracts that require approval during the time <br />period between the last City Commission meeting in July 2006 and the first regular meeting in <br />September 2006; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to assign certain powers to the City Manager <br />or his Designee to enable them to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders <br />that affect the health, safety, or welfare of the City, during the time period between the last City <br />Commission meeting in July 2006 and the first regular meeting in September 2006; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, tbe City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first <br />regular City Commission meeting on September 21, 2006, seeking after-the-fact ratification of <br />any actions relating to the aforestated authorizations. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section I. Authoritv of City Manager 01' Designee. The City Manager or his Designee is <br />hereby authorized to sign or renew all required contracts, agreements, and purehase orders that <br />affect the health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period, from the last <br />City Commission meeting in July 2006 through the first regular City Commission meeting in <br />September 2006, subject to after-the-fact ratification at the September 21, 2006 City Commission <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
