<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -~ 1 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING <br />THE PURCHASE OF 25' COMMANDER RAM MARINE <br />VESSEL (BOAT) AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FROM <br />SEAARK MARINE, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FORTY-SIX THOUSAND NINE <br />HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS ($146,990.00), AS QUOTED <br />ON THE PROPOSAL ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT <br />"A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF <br />THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the boat in the City's police department sustained massive damage this <br />hurricane season, in particular from Hurricane Wilma; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is a barrier island, it is imperative that the Sunny Isles Beach Police <br />Department have the means to provide law enforcement throughout our waterways; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department would like to purchase a new 25' Commander Ram Marine <br />Vessel (Boat) as a replacement for the vessel (boat) that was destroyed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, several law enforcement agencies, to include the A ventura Police <br />Department, Broward Sheriff's Office, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, currently <br />utilize a SeaArk Marine, Inc. ("SeaArk") vessel (boat) for law enforcement purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, SeaArk has submitted a proposal for a 25' Commander Ram Marine Vessel <br />(boat) and related equipment (engines, light, sirens, etc.), in a total amount not to exceed One <br />Hundred FOlty-Six Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Dollars ($146,990.00), attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase said marine vessel and <br />related equipment from SeaArk. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of a <br />25' Commander Ram Marine Vessel (Boat) and related equipment from SeaArk Marine, Inc., in a <br />total amount not to exceed One Hundred Forty-Six Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Dollars <br />($146,990.00), as quoted on the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit "A. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager.
