<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-lb.l1 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />CREATING A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE CITY <br />AND THE GREATER MIAMI CONVENTION & <br />VISITORS BUREAU FOR THE PURPOSES OF <br />PROMOTING THE CITY AS A TOURIST <br />DESTINATION; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER <br />WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has become a tourist haven and a <br />desired destination for local vacationers and international travelers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in an effort to maximize the City's exposure and maintain a steady <br />stream of visitors, this City Commission wishes to create a partnership with the Greater <br />Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (Convention Bureau) for the purposes of <br />marketing the City to potential tourist, business persons and international travelers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Convention Bureau is a nationally and internationally <br />recognized entity with links to various marketing groups and sites that can amplify the <br />City's identity as a preferred tourist destination; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a condition ofthe partnership, the Convention Bureau will assign <br />an employee to the City as a designated "Liaison" for the purposes assisting the City with <br />promotional tasks and promoting the City in periodicals and other advertising materials <br />disseminated by the Convention Bureau. In return, the City will provide the Convention <br />Bureau with an office space, reasonably suitable to accommodate a desk and a chair for <br />the designated Convention Bureau's employee. The City will also provide the employee <br />with office supplies necessary to communicate and conduct business with the public, <br />including an office telephone and a computer; and <br /> <br />. - <br /> <br />y <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to embark on this partnership <br />beginning January J, 2007. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section J. Approval of Partnership, The City Commission hereby approves the <br />creation of a partnership between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Convention <br />Bureau. <br />
