John Szerlag, City Manager c\ <br />Susan Simpson, Cultural & Human Services Dir~ "' <br /> <br />September 21, 2006 <br /> <br />Donation to the FlU Biscayne Bay Society Project for 2006-2007 <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City Commission has expressed a desire to support educational and cultural programs that <br />benefit the residents of Sunny Isles Beach. For the academic year 2006-2007, Florida International <br />University plans to offer more than 200 adult educational/cultural/enteltainment events open to the <br />public. FlU Biscayne Bay Society publicizes and supports these programs through sponsorships as <br />well as sponsoring the "2nd Tuesday at Biscayne Bay Campus" events. <br /> <br />DIRECTION <br /> <br />Given the above, please consider adopting the attached resolution to approve a donation in the <br />amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to co-sponsor the efforts of the Biscayne Bay Society <br />utilizing funds available in account number I 0.511.5490 (Donations).
