<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006- 9.:EJ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2006-924 EXTENDING THE PERIOD <br />OF TIME WAIVING ANY AND ALL CITY BUILDING <br />PERMIT FEES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS FOR <br />EMERGENCY REPAIRS DUE TO HURRICANE WILMA, <br />AND FOR GENERATORS FOR PROPERTY OWNERS OF <br />FACILITIES USED BY THE PUBLIC, FOR AN <br />ADDITIONAL THREE-MONTH PERIOD, EFFECTIVE <br />THROUGH OCTOBER 31, 2006; RATIFYING ANY AND <br />ALL WAIVERS GRANTED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on November 17, 2005, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. <br />2005-850 waiving building pel1uit fees for property owners for emergency repairs due to <br />Hurricane Wilma for a six-month period ending on April 26, 2006, not including fees associated <br />with any other entity, such as the County or State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due to the overwhelming amount of destruction and debris caused by <br />Hurricane Wilma statewide, many residents were unable to get their repairs done during this <br />amnesty time period, and as such, on May 18, 2006 the City Commission adopted Resolution <br />No. 2006-924 granting another three-month period through July 26, 2006, waiving building <br />permit fees for emergency repairs due to Hurricane Wilma, and for generators for property <br />owners of facilities used by the public; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, many residents are unable to get their repairs done during this extended <br />amnesty time period, and therefore, the City Manager has granted another three-month period <br />through October 31, 2006, to waive the building permit fees for emergency repairs due to <br />Hurricane Wilma and for generators for property owners of facilities used by the public, not <br />including fees associated with any other cntity, such as the County or State, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Extension to Waiver of Building Permit Fees. The City Commission hereby <br />amends Resolution No. 2006-924, extending the waiver of any and all City building permit fees <br />and costs for property owners for emergency repairs due to Hurricane Wilma for an additional <br />three-month period effective through October 31, 2006, However, property owners shall be <br />responsible for any and all permit fees and costs associated with any other government entity, <br />such as the State or County. <br /> <br />Section 2. Exteusion to Waiver of Permit Fees for a Generator.
