Staff presented Gty Commission with several
options. The shelter being proposed, Model 13NALD- VICGL, is the shelter that will be installed at
the 12 stops designated along Collins Avenue that will meet ADA standards and will utilize the city
benches that are currently at these locations. The new bus benches are to be placed inside the (12)
smaller shelters that will be located on the interior streets of the Gty, thus keeping them ADA
compliant.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This purchase is a piggyback on a Gty of Coral Springs purchase as it was designated as a sole
source vendor by the Gty of Coral Springs. This particular manufacturer utilizes a twin tube roof
perimeter that is unique in its shelter design. It is in the best interest of the Gty to piggyback on this
contract rather than letting this item out to bid to expedite the purchase and installation of these
shelters. Additionally, quotes were acquired from other vendors for shelters that were aesthetically
similar but designed differently. This quote came in less than other manufacturers.

Funding is available for this purchase in the Capital Improvements budget account number
20.600.5620, Street Furniture/Bus Shelter.
