RESOLUTION NO. 2006- IO:l <.J A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE I8IsT DRIVE ACTIVE PARK INSPECTION SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CALVIN GIORDANO AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SERVICES AS THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, IN AN AMOUNT OF THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWELVE DOLLARS ($39,312.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") issued Bid No. 05-04-01 for the construction of the 181" Drive Active Park located at 18115 North Bay Road; and WHEREAS, the City awarded Bid No. 05-04-01 to and entered into an agreement with Siltek Group, Inc., as they were deemed the lowest most responsive, responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2005-852, adopted on November 17, 2005, the City Commission approved an Agreement with Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc. for construction management and inspection services for the Active Park facilities located at 18 I 15 North Bay Road, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Two Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Eight Dollars and Seventy-Five Cents ($102,978.75); and WHEREAS, the City Administration wishes to expand Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc. scope of services to include additional construction management services for the Active Park facilities as the "Construction Manager" and assume the duties of coordinating all the necessary permit and plan approvals with the project contractor, architect and engineer to ensure a timely completion of the Active Park facilities; and WHEREAS, Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc. has submitted a proposal to provide the additional services in an amount of Thirty-Nine Thousand Three Hundred Twelve Dollars ($39,312.00); and WHEREAS, the City wishes to expand the scope of services and amend the contract with Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc. in an amount of Thirty-Nine Thousand Three Hundred Twelve Dollars ($39,312.00), bringing the total contract amount to One Hundred Forty-Two Thousand Two Hundred Ninety Dollars and Seventy-Five Cents ($142,290.75); attached hcreto as Exhibit "A".
