John Szerlag, City Manager <br /> <br />FROM: Jorge Vera, Assistant City Manager/Services <br />Rick Conner, City Engineer/Public Works Director <br /> <br />DATE: August 16,2007 <br /> <br />RE: Approval of Agreement with Calvin Giordano & Associates to Design Upgrades <br />for the Government Center. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the resolution and agreement with Calvin <br />Giordano & Associates to design the upgrades to the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, in <br />an amount not to exceed $44,580.00. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Staff has been assembling a list of items that need to be revised or upgraded here at the <br />Government Center Building over the last couple of years and we are now ready to have these <br />changes designed. The following areas need to be addressed: <br /> <br />. East stair-tower enclosure; <br />. Direct entrance from 3-P to the third floor; <br />. Weather protection (glass) for 2-P and 3-P; <br />. Post Office delivery awning structure; <br />. Enhanced drainage on 2-P; <br />. Generator Room curbing; and <br />. Canopy over the 3-P elevator doors. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> <br />Funding is available in CIP Account 20-600-5615 for the design. <br />
