RESOLUTION NO. 2007-J11d A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW COMMUNITY SHUTTLE BUS FROM ATLANTIC BUS SALES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY- FIVE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED ELEVEN DOLLARS FOURTEEN CENTS ($75,411.14), TO REPLACE THE SHUTTLE BUS THAT CAUGHT ON FIRE, WHICH WAS CONSIDERED TOTALED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") desires to replace the shuttle bus that caught on fire on September 4,2007, which was considered totaled; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to purchase one (1) shuttle bus from Atlantic Bus Sales, the same vendor in which the initial shuttle bus was purchased; and WHEREAS, Atlantic Bus Sales has submitted a quote of Seventy-Five Thousand Four Hundred Eleven Dollars ($75,411.14) which is a piggyback off of the Broward County Contract No. CX04198B3, Mid Size Buses; and WHEREAS, funding for the purchase of the bus is $61,650.00 from the insurance claim payment, and $13,761.14 from Police Forfeiture Fund for community policing, for a total of $75,411.14. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorization of Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of one (1) shuttle bus from Atlantic Bus Sales, in an amount not to exceed Seventy-Five Thousand Four Hundred Eleven Dollars Fourteen Cents ($75,411.14), piggy-backing Broward County Mass Transit Contract Bid No. CX04198B3. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
