<br />---, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- I :>~g <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO RECEIVE AND ACCEPT BY EXECUTION OF, A <br />MIAMI-DADE COUNTY LANDSCAPING COMMITTEE GRANT <br />FOR THE COLLINS A VENUE STREETSCAPE PROJECT, IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />($200,000.00) WITH FIFTY PERCENT (50%) MATCHING FUNDS <br />FROM THE CITY, WITH A TOTAL PROJECT COST OF <br />APPROXIMA TEL Y EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />($800,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE <br />ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY WITH RESPECT TO THE <br />OBTAINING AND DISTRIBUTION OF GRANT MONIES, AS <br />APPROPRIA TE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Miami-Dade County Landscaping Committee offers matching grants up <br />to a total project cost of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City submitted an application for and deemed eligible to receive a <br />Landscaping Grant in the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) for the <br />Collins A venue Streetscape Project, providing that the City commit to a matching contribution; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County funding available IS Two Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($200,000.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the required City match of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) <br />will be met by the City, with a total Project cost of approximately Eight Hundred Thousand <br />Dollars ($800,000.00). <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I. Authorization of City Manager to Receive and Accept and Expend Grant Funds. <br />The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach hereby authorizes the City Manager to <br />receive and accept by the execution of, a Miami-Dade County Landscaping Committee Grant for <br />the Collins A venue Streetscape Project, and to expend funds in the amount of Two Hundred <br />Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) with matching funds in the amount of Two Hundred Thousand <br />Dollars ($200,000.00) from the City, with a total estimated Project cost of Eight Hundred <br />Thousand Dollars ($800,000.00) should we be successful in obtaining a grant. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to <br />take any and all action necessary with respect to the obtaining and distribution of grant monies, <br />as appropriate. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
