<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AWARDING BID NO. 07-10-02 <br />TO AND ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />SOUTHEASTERN ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CENTRAL ISLAND DRAINAGE <br />AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT <br />TO EXCEED THREE MILLION SIX HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE <br />THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY-TWO DOLLARS TWO <br />CENTS ($3,635,852.02), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", <br />BASED ON THE PRICING, TERMS, AND CONDITIONS LISTED IN <br />THE BID RESPONSE, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "B"; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THE <br />AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has continuously experienced problems with flooding in the Central <br />Island area, and was in need of engineering services for drainage improvements in the Central Island <br />area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on December 18, 2003 the City Commission, via Resolution No. 2003-628, <br />approved an agreement with Beiswenger, Hoch & Associates for Stormwater System Design, <br />Technical Assistance and Bidding Process for Central Island Stormwater Drainage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is now in need of a contractor to furnish all materials, equipment and <br />labor for the Central Island Drainage and Street Improvements Project in the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised Bid No. 07-10-02, the Central Island Drainage <br />and Street Improvements Project, for which fourteen (14) responses were received; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has determined that the bid response from Southeastern Engineering <br />Contractors, Inc. attached hereto as Exhibit "B", is the lowest most responsive responsible bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Beiswenger, Hoch and Associates, our consultants, have recommended the bid <br />award, based on a careful review of the line items and consideration for the Contractor's reputation; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. has expressed its ability and desire <br />to provide these services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to award Bid No. 07-10-02 to and enter into an agreement with <br />Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. to provide services on a unit price basis for the Central <br /> <br />R2008- Southeastern Engineering Contractors Central Island Drainage Proj (Bid 07-10-02) Page 1 of] <br />
