<br />(SFWMD) areas, during all phases of construction. <br /> <br />Special attention shall be given for safely directing the flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. At the <br />discretion of the Engineer, the City may require the Contractor to call for and hire off-duty police <br />officers for directing the traffic and maintaining safety if in any way his operations will curtail the use <br />of the streets, roads and work areas specified herein. <br /> <br />For bidding purposes, the Lump Sum (LS/DA) item 102-1, Maintenance of Traffic as indicated in the <br />Bid Form of the Proposal, shall be for the provisions and Maintenance of Traffic Devises during the <br />entire length ofthe project. All devises needed for maintenance of traffic as directed by the Engineer <br />shall be included on and paid for under Pay Item No.1 02.1 <br /> <br />No separate payment shall be made for other Maintenance of Traffic devises provided by the <br />Contractor <br /> <br />Section 102-6 DETOURS: This sub-article is amended to include: <br /> <br />Traffic may be detoured only upon approval of the Director of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />20. Maintenance of Traffic Devises: <br /> <br />All maintenance traffic control devises (including signs) shall be furnished by the Contractor. <br />Barriers (including warning lights), barricades, construction signs, flashing arrow boards, and high <br />intensity flashing lights shall be in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devises <br />for Streets and Highways, U. S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration <br />(ANSI D6.1e1989) the State of Florida Department of Transportation Roadway and Traffic Design <br />Standards for Design Construction. <br /> <br />ivlaintenance and Utility Operations for Streets and }Iighways on State ~1aintained Sy'stems, Public <br />Works Manual of Metropolitan Miami-Dade County, and the latest revisions of the aforementioned <br />manuals. <br /> <br />As a minimum, the following traffic control devises shall be provided for maintenance of traffic as <br />directed by the Engineer <br /> <br />ITEM NO. <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />102-74-1 <br />102-74-2 <br />102-60 <br />102- 77 <br /> <br />Barricades (Temporary Type I and II) <br />Barricades (Temporary Type III) <br />Work Zone Signs (Temporary) <br />High Intensity Flashing Lights (Temporary Type B) <br /> <br />Note: Type "B" Low Intensity Flashing Warning Lights are to be provided and attached to the <br />barriers, signs, and barricades, as required and recommended in the latest edition of (ANSI D6.1 e- <br />1989). At the City's request, additional Traffic Control Devises may be added during construction. <br />Payment shall be as per pay item 102-1. <br /> <br />21. Floating Silt Barrier (Section 104) <br /> <br />The Work required under this Section shall be paid for at the contract unit price bid per linear foot of <br />Floating Silt Barrier as indicated in the Bid Form ofthe Proposal.
