<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- , ';1,7 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE <br />OF A DONATION IN AN AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND FIVE <br />HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500.00) FROM THE SUNFLOWER SOCIETY <br />TO SPONSOR CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE CITY SUMMER DAY <br />CAMP PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach provides a fee for service summer day camp <br />program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunflower Society is a non-profit organization that wishes to provide <br />financial assistance to families that would otherwise not be able to attend the city's day camp <br />program due to financial constraints; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these funds, in the amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br />($2,500.00) are being donated in honor of Connie Morrow, the founder of the Sunflower Society <br />and the originator of this scholarship program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are families in need of this financial assistance. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance <br />of the donation from the Sunflower Society in an amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred <br />Dollars ($2,500.00) to pay for the summer camp fees of families in need of financial assistance. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
