<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- J.3 59. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF SEVEN (7) VEHICLES AND ASSOCIATED <br />EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED FIVE <br />THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIX DOLLARS AND <br />EIGHTY-EIGHT CENTS ($205,806.88), ATTACHED HERETO <br />AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department rotates a portion of the Police <br />fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to its officers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase seven (7) vehicles from <br />Duval Ford under the Florida Sheriffs Association of Counties Purchasing Contract No. 08-16- <br />0908, and associated equipment which will be purchased from various vendors as a result of a <br />competitive bid process, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Five Thousand Eight <br />Hundred Six Dollars and Eighty-Eight Cents ($205,806.88), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for <br />said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $205,806.88 is available in the budgeted account <br />No. 10-700-5152. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorizing the Purchase of Vehicles and Equipment. The City Commission <br />hereby authorizes the purchase of seven (7) vehicles and their associated equipment in an amount <br />not to exceed Two Hundred Five Thousand Eight Hundred Six Dollars and Eighty-Eight Cents <br />($205,806.88), as outlined in Exhibit "A", attached hereto. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
