John Szerlag, City Manager <br />Douglas Haag, Assistant City Manager-Finance'(j~V\\~ <br /> <br />September 18, 2008 <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF FRDAP GRANT APPLICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF <br />BELLA VISTA BAY PARK <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the attached resolution authorizing the city manager to take the necessary steps to apply <br />for a development grant for Bella Vista Bay Park located at 500 Sunny Isles Boulevard. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This application is for the 2009 grant year. The anticipated development grant amount is up to <br />$200,000. The grant application is due September 30, 2008. Notification of grant award is <br />expected summer, 2009 and if we are successful the next step will consist of approving the grant <br />agreement. <br /> <br />There is a 50% match requirement which we have included $615,000 in FY 2008/09 and <br />$500,000 in FY 2009110 as needed. Current project scope for the site consists of seawall repairs, <br />debris removal, benches, picnic tables, restrooms, drinking fountain, bike rack and trash <br />receptacles. <br /> <br />We have three years to complete the development outlined in our application.
