Vera, Assistant City Manager/ Service Division February 19,2009 Government Center Platting RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached Resolution to approve the services of Fortin, Leavy, Skiles, Inc. for the platting of the Government Center parcel, in the amount of $25,000.00. REASONS The City is in the process of platting certain City properties for taxing purposes. Currently the Government Center and Tony Roma's are located within the same tax folio number thereby taxes are being imposed by Miami Dade County Property Appraisal Office. The re-platting of the Government Center parcel would provide Tony Roma's with their own tax folio number and taxes would be imposed just on that parcel of land. The remaining area, which will be the Government Center and parking lot, would have its separate tax folio and would be exempt from property taxes. Funds are budgeted in 10-540-5313.
