<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009- mo <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR <br />THE USE OF BIODEGRADABLE TRASH BAGS IN THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is a "Green City" and as such, is always <br />looking for ways to enhance that effort; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, biodegradable trash bags are a giant step toward that concept; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City supports the use of biodegradable trash bags not only through our <br />residents but commercial establishments as well; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the citizens of the City's best interest to use biodegradable trash <br /> <br />bags. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Express Support to Utilize Degradable Trash Bags. The City Commission hereby <br />encourages all residents and commercial establishments of the City to utilize biodegradable trash <br />bags helping the City's effort to become a "Green City". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
