<br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO. 09-06-01 <br /> <br />REMOVAL, FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF STREET SIGNAGE <br /> <br />1.1 INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Pursuant to Chapter 62 of the City Code, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, (the "City") <br />a municipality located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, requests qualified Proposers <br />("Proposers") to submit proposals to remove approximately 217 existing street signs west of <br />Collins Avenue from 1741h Street to 183rd Street. The contract will be awarded by the City to <br />the Proposer whose proposal best serves the interests of, and represents the best value to, the <br />City in accordance with the criteria set forth in Section 62-8 of the City Code. <br /> <br />1.2 BACKGROUND AND JOB SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal <br />Waterway on the East and West and 193rd Street on the North and Haulover Beach Park on <br />the South. Our City standards stress a high quality of redevelopment with a focus on creating <br />visual corridors to the ocean, with access to the ocean as well as redevelopment of Sunny <br />Isles Boulevard and Collins A venue with a focus on protecting the environment, providing <br />landscaping and developing aesthetically attractive structures. The City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach has adopted by Ordinance No. 2000-105 a Comprehensive Plan emphasizing aesthetic <br />issues and the City is in the process of developing our land development regulations. <br /> <br />The City is seeking a proroser to remove approximately 217 existing street signs west of <br />Collins Avenue from 1741 Street to 183rd Street and replace them with custom street sign <br />units, similar in size and appearance to the street signs located in the Golden Shores <br />Neighborhood, i.e. the area west of Collins Avenue between 185th Street and 191st Street. <br />The following specifications may be used for comparison purposes: <br /> <br />1. 4" square aluminum posts (.125" way 1); / <br />2. ball caps; /"/ <br />3. 1" flat reveals; \ ~ ~ <br />4. where street sign b es are required, blades will be fabricated from .1 f <br />thick aluminum, , aluminum tubing, flat plates and ball ends; <br />5. copy to be reflective white vinyl with decorative blue and white vinyl for the <br />wave pattern design located above the street name; <br />6. all aluminum components to be powder coated black; and <br />7. back of all signs to have stickers with the Proposer's name, phone number and <br />contact information should a sign be damaged and/or defaced. <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the above sample specifications, each Proposer is invited to submit their <br />own specifications for custom street signage. <br /> <br />()v.,. <br /> <br />bo~ o(.,c.~~i~~ J <br />I!-- ~~ <; <br /> <br />~~ ~;Je( <br /> <br /> <br />
