This product is based on a unique <br />interlocking system and we have not been able to find any other supplier that makes even <br />a remotely similar product. To us, this is truly a sole source situation. Because we <br />already have a significant inventory of the bases and the stanchions, for maximum <br />flexibility it only makes sense to use the exact same system everywhere in the City. As <br />new jobs and locations develop through the year, we find ourselves exceeding the <br />$10,000 limit for a single vendor. We are therefore asking for authorization to purchase <br />up to $25,000 worth of materials per year to cover any major projects that must be <br />quickly addressed for public safety. We have a guaranteed unit price and will only <br />order and pay for exactly what is needed and no more. Examples of this system are <br />the 182nd Street area and the 183rd Street interesection with Collins. <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />These items will be funded through the individual capital projects of which they are a <br />part. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />.
