<br />...... <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010 --12lL <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF LAPTOP COMPUTERS, DESKTOP <br />WORKSTATIONS AND ASSOCIATED ACCESSORIES FROM <br />DELL FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, UNDER STATE OF <br />FLORIDA CONTRACT #WN05ACA, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />($81,000.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 18, 2006 via Resolution No. 2006-920, the City Commission <br />approved the purchase and implementation of a new state-of-the-art computer aided dispatch and <br />records management system to upgrade and automate the Police Department's processes and <br />equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department (IT) researched and established a <br />cost effective replacement cycle of three (3) years for all City computers to assure optimal <br />performance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, IT wishes to purchase new computer servers, workstations, and other <br />related hardware and software, in order to replace twenty (20) desktop computers within the <br />Police Department and fifty-two (52) Dell Laptop Computers utilized in the Police vehicles as <br />part of the Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management System; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff has requested a quote from Dell, a leader in the computer industry, for <br />said computer servers, workstations, and other related hardware and software; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dell has provided a quote under the State of Florida Contract #WN05ACA <br />for the purchase of the computer servers, workstations, and other related hardware and software, <br />in a total amount not to exceed Eighty-One Thousand Dollars ($81,000.00), attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase said computer servers, <br />workstations, and other related hardware and software from Dell. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase <br />of computer servers, workstations, and other related hardware and software from Dell for the <br />Police Department, under State of Florida Contract #WN05ACA, in a total amount not to exceed <br />Eighty-One Thousand Dollars ($81,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />R2010- Dell Computer Purchase For PD <br /> <br />Page I of2 <br />
