<br />WHEREAS, although the City Commission believes that no further action is necessary, it <br /> <br />wishes to expedite the payment of Utility Taxes to the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the enactment of this ordinance will protect the <br /> <br />public health, safety and welfare of the residents and inhabitants of the City and secure revenues <br /> <br />which are due and owing to the City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br /> <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />.1. Utility Tax Ordinance Adopted. An ordinance to be known as the "Utility Tax Ordinance" is <br /> <br />hereby adopted as an ordinance of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, to read as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE I. UTILITY TAX <br /> <br />Sec. 1.01. <br /> <br />Definitions <br /> <br />F or the purposes hereof, the following words and phrases shall have <br />the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: <br /> <br />Bottled Gas: All types and kinds of natural, liquefied petroleum and <br />manufactured gas for lighting, heating, cooking, power or any other <br />purpose delivered to any purchaser thereof within the incorporated <br />area of the City. <br /> <br />City: City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. <br /> <br />Coal: All coal for lighting, heating, cooking, power, energy or any <br />other purpose competing with any other utility or energy source taxed <br />under this ordinance delivered to any purchaser thereof within the <br />incorporated area of the City. <br /> <br />Electricity: All electric current or energy for lighting, heating, <br />cooking, power or any other purpose delivered to any purchaser <br />thereof within the incorporated area of the City. <br /> <br />Finance Director: The City Manager or his designee. <br /> <br />Fuel Oil: All bunker C oil, number 1 and 2 fuel oil, and kerosene or <br />any combination thereof capable of being used for lighting, heating, <br />
