Solera, Community Development Director <br /> <br />April 17,2008 <br /> <br />Amendment To Section 256 Vehicles And Traffic <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approves the attached Ordinance amending the <br />Vehicles and Traffic Section of the Code. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The Community Development Department (in response to requests from residents) is proposing <br />an amendment to the existing Code that would allow the parking of commercial vehicles with no <br />more than two axles that are generally used for non-commercial purposes from time to time in <br />the "resident only areas" of the City, to provide a relief for those citizens with this type of <br />equipment as their main vehicle, since various associations do not allow the parking of these <br />vehicles within their premises. <br /> <br />The present Code does not allow the Department to provide a monthly / annual parking permit to <br />commercial vehicles.
