<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010- ,S 4..l <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />AND/OR HIS DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR, RECEIVE AND EXPEND <br />GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA RECREATIONAL <br />TRAILS PROGRAM (RTP), IN AN AMOUNT OF UP TO TWO HUNDRED <br />FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($250,000.00), FOR THE DEVELOPMENT <br />OF A TRAIL THROUGH THE INTRACOASTAL PARKS; AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION NECESSARY <br />WITH RESPECT TO THE OBTAINING, ACCEPTANCE, AND <br />DISTRIBUTION OF GRANT MONIES, AS APPROPRIATE; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission purchased additional property along the west side of <br />Collins A venue south of Sunny Isles Boulevard for open space/park purposes in the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach to improve the quality of life for its citizens and visitors; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 28, 2010 via Resolution No. 2010-1519, the City Commission <br />approved naming the south Collins park system along the west side of Collins A venue from the <br />southern entryway of the City to south of Sunny Isles Boulevard as "The Intracoastal Parks"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is interested in development of a trail through <br />The Intracoastal Parks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, is seeking grant funds from the Florida Recreational Trails Program (R TP) to <br />provide financial assistance of up to $250,000 with a dollar-for-dollar cash match from the City for a <br />trail through The Intracoastal Parks. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authority to Apply For and Accept Grant. The City Manager and/or his designee is <br />authorized to make application to the Florida Recreational Trails Program, in the amount of up to <br />$250,000 with a dollar-for-dollar cash match from the City. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is authorized to take any and <br />all action necessary with respect to the obtaining, acceptance, and distribution of grant monies, as <br />appropriate. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
