<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - Ii:, "'lO <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE AWARD OF <br />RFP NO. 10-08-01 TO AND ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT <br />WITH SOUTHEASTERN ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS, INC. <br />FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CENTRAL ISLAND <br />EMERGENCY OUTFALLS IMPROVEMENTSIDRAINAGE <br />PROJECT PHASE IV, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY- <br />FOUR THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS AND <br />EIGHTY-ONE CENTS ($84,740.81), ATTACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A", BASED ON THE PRICING, TERMS, AND <br />CONDITIONS LISTED IN THE BID RESPONSE, ATTACHED <br />HERETO AS ATTACHMENT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has continuously experienced problems with flooding in the Central <br />Island area, and was in need of engineering services for drainage improvements in Central Island that <br />will enhance the drainage on North Bay Road both at the Sunny Isles Beach Elementary School and <br />south ofthe School; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is now in need of a contractor to furnish all materials, equipment and <br />labor for the Central Island Drainage Project Phase IV in the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised Request for Proposals No. 10-08-0 I, for <br />Professional Construction Services for Central Island Emergency Outfalls Improvements, for which <br />three (3) responses were received; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has determined that the bid response from Southeastern Engineering <br />Contractors, Inc. attached hereto as Attachment "A", is the lowest most responsive responsible bid; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. has expressed its ability and desire <br />to provide these services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to award RFP No.1 0-08-0 I to and enter into an agreement with <br />Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. to provide services on a unit price basis for the Central <br />Island Emergency Outfalls Improvements/Drainage Project Phase IV Phase IV, in an amount not to <br />exceed Eighty-Four Thousand Seven Hundred Forty Dollars and Eighty-One Cents ($84,740.81), <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />R201O- Southeastern - Central Island Drainage Phase IV (RFP 10-08-0 I) Page 1 of 2 <br />
