<br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO. 10-06-01 <br /> <br />PROFESSIONAL AUDITING SERVICES <br /> <br />1.1 INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, (the "City") a municipality located in Miami-Dade County, <br />Florida, requests qualified Proposers ("Proposers") to submit proposals for Professional Auditing <br />Services ("Services"). The contract will be awarded by the City to the Proposer whose proposal best <br />serves the interests of, and represents the best value to, the City in accordance with the criteria set <br />forth in Section 62-8 of the City Code. <br /> <br />1.2. NATURE OF SERVICES REQUIRED <br /> <br />A. Engagement Terms <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is requesting proposals from qualified firms of <br />certified public accountants to audit its financial statements for three years, with the <br />initial fiscal year ending September 30, 2010. We will also consider an option of two <br />one year renewals for a total of a five year term. <br /> <br />B. Work Objective <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is requesting proposals from qualified independent <br />Certified Public Accountants and/or firms licensed to practice in the State of Florida <br />for the purpose of providing an annual examination of the financial statements and <br />records of the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The audit shall be conducted for the <br />purpose of forming an opinion of the general-purpose financial statements taken as a <br />whole and to determine whether operations were conducted in accordance with legal <br />and regulatory requirements. These audits are to be performed in accordance with <br />generally accepted auditing standards and the standards for financial audits set forth <br />in the U.S. General Accounting Office's (GAO) Government Auditing Standards, the <br />provisions of the Federal Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996, and the U.S. Office <br />of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-l33, Audits of State and Local <br />Governments and the provisions of the Florida Single Audit Act. <br />
