Ms. Rahman regularly <br />utilizes Digital Terrain Modeling (DTM) software to generate contour maps and calculate cut/fill volumes <br />for a variety of civil engineering projects. Ms. Rahman is also responsible for providing deliverables in <br />GIS formats. <br /> <br />Mr. Aaron Boehning - party chief, has over 12 years of land and hydrographic experience. Mr. Boehning is <br />a licensed Coast Guard captain, and has performed land and hydrographic surveys. <br /> <br />SCHEDULING <br />Coastal Systems goal for effective project management is to clearly define scope and fee budget for a <br />project from the beginning, in close conjunction with the City. Roles and responsibilities are clearly <br />conveyed and a project schedule established with milestones. Coastal Systems strives to define the <br />regulatory strategy prior to submitting permit applications through pre-application meetings and an in- <br />depth knowledge of state and federal permitting regulations. <br /> <br />COST CONTROL <br />Coastal Systems utilizes the Vision accounting system (Vision) to monitor budgets and weekly staff time <br />postings. The project manager is responsible for reviewing and approving all time posted to a project. <br />Vision provides a web-based environment for project accounting, reporting and tracking providing <br />detailed reports of project progress and budget. The project management reports provide the project <br />manager with real time indicators of percent of fees expended. The project manager can review the <br />budget expended versus the percent of work complete for a particular task. Project invoices are generated <br />directly from the accounting system, and invoices are reviewed by the Project Manager, with final <br />approval by the Department Head to ensure consistency and accuracy. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL STABILITY <br />The firm maintains a diverse staff of technical professionals that specializes in coastal and waterfront <br />consulting services. Services are provided for both private and public sector clients, and approximately <br />half of the firm's services are provided for international projects, primarily in the Caribbean and Central <br />America. This balanced clientele allows the firm to adjust to market conditions instead of focusing in <br />certain sectors that are subject to market volatility. Coastal Systems has a balanced, steady 5-year <br />business development and growth management plan. As part of this plan, Coastal Systems is actively <br />marketing public sector, clients such as the City of Sunny Isles.
