<br />estimate settlemcnt 20 years after the tank was filled.
<br />Concluded that settlement across the mat would vary
<br />approximately uniformly, and that the mild slopc of the
<br />mat would not impair the functionality or thc structural
<br />integrity of the tank.

<br />Had O\'erall responsibility for site ill\'estigations that
<br />included soil gas sampling, borings, installation of
<br />groundwater monitoring wells, sampling of used drum
<br />contents and chemical analysis of soil, groundwater and
<br />drum contents. Prepared portions of interim report and
<br />
<br />draft final report presenting the results of the site
<br />assessment.

<br />systemwide elements for a project to provide
<br />underground electric or dual-mode bus selTice from

<br />Directed a team of eight subconsultants. The work
<br />accomplished included: GO perccnt design for emergency
<br />tunnel ventilation; 90 percent design of communications,
<br />tunncllighting, and emergency fan controls; 90 pcrccnt
<br />design of traction power and catenary for the
<br />undcrground route; 30 perccnt dcsign of the 'Thiclc
<br />maintcnancc facility; 30 pcrcent design of an
<br />undcrground station and section of line tunnel;
<br />c,'aluation of an alternati,'C tunnel route for a Phasc 2
<br />cxtension of the Transitway to mid-town, and
<br />gcotechnical and em'ironmental im'estigations.
