Hines, CMC City Clerk Sunny Isles Beach Government Center 18070 Collins Avenue Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 Request for Qualifications #07-08-01 Professional Design Services for the Heritage Park and Parking Garage Opening Date and Time: Wednesday, October 10,2007, 10:00 am File No.: 4128-80 Dear Members of the Selection Committee: We are pleased to submit our qualifications and experience in expression of our interest in the design of the Heritage Park and Parking Garage for the City of Sunny Isles Beach. For this project, we propose a design team with proven experience in the successful completion of projects with similar goals and requirements. As the former President of Scharf & Associates, a 20 year Fort Lauderdale based Architectural and Planning Firm; I served as the Architect of Record for numerous park facilities as well as parking garage designs. Among these have been the Broward County Governmental Center Parking Garage (2,000 cars), the Mid-Port Parking Garage and Harbor Master Tower at Port Everglades (2,000 cars), and The Lucky Street Parking Garage at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood (2,300 cars). I am currently serving as the Architectural Designer working with Walker Parking Consultants on a 500 car parking structure, presently under construction at the North Broward Medical Center in Deerfield Beach. Among successfully completed park facilities, I am serving as the Architect for the 110 acre Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, improvements to TY Park in Hollywood and a 160 acre park for the Village of Royal Palm Beach. Of most significant note, is Young Circle Artspark, a 10 acre redevelopment of Young Circle, recently completed in the City of Hollywood. In 2006, Scharf & Associates merged our practice with the world-wide practice of IBI Group, Inc. Our Architectural Practice is now supported and enhanced by the expertise of the IBI Group to better serve the requirements of this Project. As the former President of Scharf & Associates and now the Principal of Architecture for the IBI Group, I will serve as the Managing Architect for this project.
