' E. Installation <br />1. Unless otherwise noted on the Drawings, top of cabinets shall not <br />exceed 60 inches above grade, properly aligned and adequately <br />supported independently of the connecting raceways. <br />2. All wiring in panelboards shall be neatly formed, grouped, laced, and <br />identified to provide a neat and orderly appearance. A typewritten <br />directory card identifying all circuits shall be placed in the card holder <br />inside the front cover. <br />1 2.05 UNDERGROUND SYSTEM <br />A. Materials <br />1. Ducts shall be polyvinyl chloride (PVC Schedule 40) installed on clean <br />fine sand. No rocks or debris shall be allowed as trench fill. <br />' 2. Cable racks, supports, pulling -in irons, and hardware shall be galvanized <br />steel manufactured by Cope or approved equal, or provided as required. <br />3. Precast pullboxes shall be heavy duty t YP e, designed for a Class H2O <br />wheel load. Precast pullboxes shall be as manufactured by Brooks <br />Products Co., or approved equal. <br />� 0,03 <br />4. Handhole covers and frames shall be traffic rated, H2O class, provided <br />as required and grounded to the system ground. <br />B. Ducts shall be installed to drain away from panels; ducts between pullboxes <br />shall drain toward the pullbox. Duct slopes shall not be less than 3 inches per <br />100 feet. <br />C. Duct lines shall be laid in trenches on a clean backfill bedding. <br />D. The minimum cover for duct lines shall be as specified. <br />E. PVC duct terminations at pullboxes shall be with PVC and bells. <br />F. Where bends in ducts are required, long radius elbows, sweeps and offsets <br />shall be used. <br />G. All ducts shall be rodded and a mandrel drawn through followed by a swab to <br />lean out any obstructions which may cause cable abrasions. The mandrel <br />shall be 12 inches in length and the diameter %Z- inchless than the inside <br />diameter of the duct. <br />16050 -8 <br />03- 4138.A <br />
