• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 2,��,�• <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH,FLORIDA,ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF <br /> THE GENERAL ELECTION WHICH WAS HELD ON TUESDAY, <br /> NOVEMBER 8, 2016, DECLARING LARISA SVECHIN TO BE <br /> ELECTED AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 1; DECLARING DANA <br /> GOLDMAN TO BE ELECTED AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 3; <br /> DISCHARGING THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR RUN-OFF <br /> ELECTION; INSTALLATION OF NEW OFFICERS; PROVIDING <br /> FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Sunny Isles Beach held a General Election on Tuesday,November 8, <br /> 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections and her staff of officials served <br /> as Canvassing Board for the November 8, 2016 General Election; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board met on November 8, 2016, and proceeded to publicly <br /> canvass the votes cast for the candidates in the General Election and certified the General Election <br /> results; and <br /> WHEREAS, City Resolution No. 2016-2566,designated Gloria Taft to be the registered voter <br /> to serve on the Canvassing Board with the City Manager and City Clerk, in the event a Run-Off <br /> Election was needed. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Acceptance of Results of General Election. The City Commission of the City of <br /> Sunny Isles Beach hereby accepts the results of the General Election held on November 8,2016,as <br /> follows: <br /> For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER --SEAT 1,the whole numbers of votes <br /> cast was 5,373, of which number <br /> MENDEL BERGOVOY received 2,229 votes <br /> LARISA SVECHIN received 3,144 votes <br /> For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 3,the whole numbers of votes <br /> cast was 5,680, of which number <br /> GREG CAPRA received 1,970 votes <br /> DANA GOLDMAN received 3,710 votes <br /> R2016-Accept 110816 General Election Results Page 1 <br />
