Roots must be sturdily established in ball that has been tightly wrapped <br />and securely tied with twine or wire, or pinned. <br />f. Burlapping will not be required if the palm is dug from marl or heavy <br />soil that adheres to roots and retains its shape without shattering, <br />provided moistened material is used to cover the ball, the roots are not <br />directly exposed to wind or sun, and the palm is planted within 24 hours <br />after being dug. <br />g. When collected palms are grown on top of rock and are peeled off, the <br />depth of the ball may be less than minimum ball size in chart, but width <br />of ball and volume of roots should be sufficient to ensure normal <br />recovery and continued growth. <br />1.08 WATERING <br />A.
