SECTION 02490 <br />TREES, PLANTS AND GROUNDCOVER <br />PART 1- GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment and services to complete the Trees, <br />Plants and Groundcover work, as indicated on the drawings, as specified herein or both, <br />except as for items specifically indicated as "NIC ITEMS ". <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br />A. Section 02210 - Fine Grading <br />B Section 02481 - Shrub and Tree Relocation <br />C. Section 02484 - Soil Preparation and Soil Mixes <br />D. Section 02487 - Sodding <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Inspection <br />1. Furnish plant materials inspected by State Department of Agriculture at the <br />growing site and tagged or otherwise approved for delivery by Landscape <br />Architect. <br />2. Inspection at growing site does not preclude right of rejection at project site. <br />B. Furnish plant materials certified by State Department of Agriculture to be free from <br />harmful insects or apparent disease. Verify that all plant material is free of harmful <br />insects and disease. <br />C. All plant material shall be Florida #1 or better as defined by the Florida Department of <br />Agriculture "Codes and Standards for Nursery Plants Part I and II ". <br />D. Plant material shall be shade or sun grown, and /or acclimatized depending on planting <br />location. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Certificate of inspection of plant material by State Authorities. <br />B. Test Reports: Analysis of samples from planting soil supply areas. <br />C. Maintenance Instruction: Prior to the end of the maintenance period, furnish three <br />copies of written maintenance instructions to the Owner's Representative and Landscape <br />11/04 02490 -1 04 -4801 <br />
