SECTION 02900 <br />PLANTING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS: <br />A. Drawings and provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and <br />Division -1 Specification sections, apply to Work of this section. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Qualifications of Workers: Provide at least one person who shall be present at all times during <br />execution of this portion of the Work, who shall be thoroughly familiar with the type of materials <br />being installed and the best methods for their installation and who shall direct all Work performed <br />under this section. <br />B. Standards: The following (where applicable) form a part of these specifications: <br />1. Grades and Standards for Nursery Plants, Part I and [L Florida State Department of <br />Agriculture (latest edition). <br />2. Standardized Plant Names: American Joint Committee on Horticultural Nomenclature, 1942. <br />3. Hortus: Bailey (latest edition), Second Edition. <br />4. Exotica: A.B. Graff, Series 3, latest Edition. <br />C. Obtain written acceptance from CONSULTANT for any variation from the above or specified <br />requirements before proceeding. <br />D. All planting materials shall meet or exceed specifications of Federal, State, and County laws requiring <br />inspection for plant disease and insect control. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Unit Prices: Within 10 (ten) days after award of Contract, and before any planting materials are <br />delivered to the job site, submit to the CONSULTANT a complete itemized price list of all items <br />proposed to be installed. CONSULTANT reserves right to add or delete materials at unit prices given <br />to adjust lump sum Contract price. Unit prices shall be a breakdown of landscaping Contract price. <br />Claims as to unsuitability or unavailability of any specified materials or species will not be <br />considered unless such claims are made in writing to the CONSULTANT and submitted 10 <br />(ten) days prior to Bid due date.. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall demonstrate complete conformance with requirements of this <br />section in submitting price list. <br />This provision of unit prices shall in no ways be construed as permitting substitution for <br />specific items described on the drawings or these specifications unless substitution has been <br />02900 -1 <br />
