RESOLUTION NO. 2016-2 Lt./ <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN IN-KIND <br /> DONATION TO THE NORTH MIAMI BEACH LITTLE LEAGUE IN AN <br /> AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND NINE <br /> HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($21,925.00) FOR USE OF THE <br /> CHIEF FRED MAAS BASEBALL FIELD TO PROVIDE A <br /> RECREATIONAL BASEBALL PROGRAM FOR CALENDAR YEAR <br /> 2017; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br /> NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING <br /> FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing a variety of quality <br /> recreational opportunities to our community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Miami Beach Little League and Sunny Isles Beach are dedicated <br /> to activities that benefit the children of the Sunny Isles Beach community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Miami Beach Little League organization has requested use of the <br /> Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field to provide a recreational baseball program including the annual <br /> Challenger Program which is a short off-season baseball program that provides the opportunity <br /> for disabled players to partner with volunteer players to play baseball in a fun and safe <br /> environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to supporting these activities <br /> with an in-kind donation for the use of the field, as well as City personnel to assist in these sport <br /> activities, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-One Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars <br /> ($21,925.00) based on their requested schedule for calendar year 2017. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the in-kind <br /> donation to the North Miami Beach Little League for use of the Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field <br /> located at Pelican Community Park, and City personnel assisting in these sport activities, in an <br /> amount not to exceed Twenty-One Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars ($21,925.00) <br /> based on their requested schedule for calendar year 2017. <br /> Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br /> things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> R2016-Donation In-Kind NMB Little League 1 <br />
