ISECTION 01532 <br />TREE AND PLANT PROTECTION <br />IPART 1 - GENERAL <br />A. Certain specimen trees adjacent to construction areas and in other key <br />locations will be identified by the Owner and the Landscape Architect, and <br />marked with red tags. Loss or damage to these trees will result in <br />replacement with equal canopy. <br />B. If any trees or shrubs are damaged that are designated to be saved then <br />replacement is required. They shall be replaced with equal number and <br />diameter of trees or shrubs of the same species and variety, as specified <br />by the Owner and Architect, shall be furnished and planted by the <br />Contractor, no additional cost to owner. The total inch diameter of the <br />replacement trees or shrubs shall equal the diameter of the tree of shrub <br />to be replaced. The Contractor shall not be liable for any loss or damage <br />which occurs while the Contractor is complying with instructions given by <br />the Owner, Landscape Architect, or Arborist working on the project. <br />1.06 VEGETATION PROTECTIVE SIGNAGE (PRESERVATION AREAS) <br />A. Two types of signs shall be posted throughout the property with respect to <br />the care of vegetation. Provide all equipment and materials, and do all work necessary to protect <br />existing trees and plants from damage as a result of the contractor's <br />operations. <br />1.02 <br />RELATED WORK <br />A. Comply with applicable requirements of the following standards. Where <br />these standards conflict with other specified requirements, the most <br />restrictive requirements shall govern. <br />1. International Society of Arboriculture (ISA): Guide for establishing <br />values of trees and other plants. <br />1.04 <br />SUBMITTALS <br />A.
