6. Complete start-up testing of systems, and instruction of the Owner's <br />operating and maintenance personnel. Discontinue or change over <br />and remove temporary facilities from the site, along with <br />construction tools, mock -ups, and similar elements. <br />B. When the Contractor considers the Work to be substantially complete, he <br />shall submit a written notice to the Engineer that the Work, or designated <br />portion of the Work, is complete and ready for inspection. <br />C. Within a reasonable time of receipt of a request for inspection, the <br />Engineer will either proceed with inspection or advise the Contractor of <br />unfulfilled requirements. When the Engineer and Owner concur that the <br />Work, or designated portion of the Work, is substantially complete, the <br />Engineer will prepare the Certificate of Substantial Completion following <br />inspection. <br />D. Should the Engineer determine that the Work is not substantially <br />complete, he will advise the Contractor of construction that must be <br />completed or corrected before the certificate will be issued. <br />1. The Engineer will repeat inspection when requested and assured <br />that the Work has been substantially completed. <br />2. Results of the completed inspection will form the basis of <br />requirements for final acceptance. <br />1.04 FINAL COMPLETION <br />A. When Contractor considers the Work to be complete, he shall submit <br />written certification to the Engineer that the Work is completed and ready <br />for final inspection. Include the following: <br />1. Submit the final payment request with releases and supporting <br />documentation not previously submitted and accepted. include <br />certificates of insurance for products and completed operations <br />where required. <br />2. Submit an updated final statement, accounting for final additional <br />changes to the Contract Sum. <br />3. Submit a certified copy of the Engineer's final inspection list of <br />items to be completed or corrected, stating that each item has been <br />completed or otherwise resolved for acceptance, the list has been <br />endorsed and dated by the Engineer. <br />01700 -2 05 -5564 <br />
