' <br />C. <br />The Landscape Contractor shall verify that the herbicide and application <br />technique will not damage plant material prior to application, and shall <br />replace, and /or repair damage to any plant injured by herbicide application <br />at no cost to the Owner. <br />3.07 TOP MULCHING <br />' <br />A. <br />Top trenches, two days <br />mulch planting pits, and areas within after <br />planting. <br />tB. <br />Cover watering basin or bed evenly with 3 inch compacted depth of top <br />mulch material. <br />C. <br />Water thoroughly, immediately after mulching. <br />D. <br />"Cut in" mulch at plant bed /sod line. <br />E. <br />Hose down planting area with fine spray to wash leaves of plants at least <br />twice a week, or as required. <br />F. <br />Exclude mulch from annual and Bromeliad beds. <br />3.08 GUYING AND STAKING OF TREES <br />A. <br />Stake trees as shown on the drawings except where they are planted in <br />special locations where guying is not feasible. <br />1. Stake Installation: <br />a. Drive stakes perpendicularly, 3 feet into ground at edge of <br />root ball. Do not drive stake through soil separator or <br />drainage gravel if present. Do not drive stakes through root <br />ball. <br />b. Number <br />of stakes as shown. <br />2. Tying and Cross - bracing: <br />a. For trees over 4 -inch caliper: <br />(1) Stake and tie firmly with guy wire. <br />(2) Separate guy wire from bark by hose section. <br />b. For trees under 4 inches in caliper: <br />(1) Nail cross -brace between stakes. <br />(2) Tie tree to cross -brace guy wire. <br />(3) Separate guy wire from bark by hose section. <br />B. <br />Stake palm trees as shown. Contractor shall have the option to deepen <br />' <br />the burial of Sabal Palmetto and Washingtonia Robusta for stabilization in <br />' <br />07/06 <br />02490 -12 05 -5564 <br />
