This project was a major ($200 million construction cost)
Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) project for the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) on a county road to improve capacity and mobility of
airport cargo traffic along the corridor. For this project, NW 25th Street is going to
be widened from its existing five -lane undivided configuration to a six -lane
divided roadway to provide for the substructure supporting of the viaduct bridge
within the median. The project required coordination with Miami -Dade County Public Works, Miami -Dade Aviation
Department, and DERM. Though this project was managed by FDOT and plans were per their standards, Marlin
Engineering, Inc. coordinated with the county on acceptance of the project.
MV
d NW 62 "d Avenue/ West 8`h Avenue - Reconstruction of NW 62nd Avenue/ West 8th Avenue from NW 105th Street
to NW 138th Street for Miami -Dade County Public Works Department under Project No. 67916. The project is
similar to the subject project in that NW 62nd Avenue was widened from two -lane undivided roadway to a five -lane
typical section consisting of two lanes in each direction divided by a painted median. The proposed work included
roadway plan - profile, plateau details, drainage, lighting, signalization, traffic control plan and bridge plans for the
new bridge over the C -7 Canal. Although this was a county project, the City of Hialeah successfully funded the
project and recently constructed it.
• Indian Creek Drive and 63rd Street - Reconstruction of Indian Creek Drive from just south of 63rd Street to north
of Abbott Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida. This major FDOT reconstruction project also includes the replacement
of the existing 63rd Street eastbound flyover with a triple left turn at the intersection with Indian Creek Drive. Other
components of the project included drainage, signing and pavement markings, signalization, lighting, rehabilitation
of the bascule bridge, and landscape architecture. The project also required coordination with the City of Miami
Beach to meet their standards and preferences and routine meetings with the Citizen's Advisory Committee as a
vehicle to gain community -wide acceptance of the project.
• NW 14`h Street Rehabilitation - Resurfacing and widening of NW 14`h Street from NW 34th Avenue to NW 22nd
Avenue in the City of Miami. The project included the milling and resurfacing of NW 14th Street, a two -lane
undivided roadway, minor widening and intersections, and the reconstruction of the existing swale with concrete
grid pavers. Also included was some reconstruction of NW 34th Avenue to provide drainage improvements. With
the resurfacing of the roadway, signing and pavement markings were also provided.
SR 826 /Sunny Isles Boulevard Sidewalk Enhancement - Widening of
the existing sidewalk and resurfacing of the remaining roadway pavement
as part of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Sidewalk Enhancement project.
The project included the relocation of existing drainage structures and
realigning the merging of the inner and outer eastbound business loop
ramps to the eastbound SR- 826 /Sunny Isles Boulevard. The existing
roadway was narrowed from its existing five -lane one way directional urban
typical section to a four lane urban roadway with 16 -ft wide sidewalks. The
project also included landscape and decorative lighting throughout the
sidewalk areas.
We look forward to a continually mutual rewarding relationship between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Marlin
Engineering, Inc.
Sincerely,
INC.
Ramon S
President
' MARLI
f NGf NE ElifNG
9NA;&A?u' wkvt
